Colossus of New York (1958) (Blu-ray))
After the accidental death of a brilliant scientist, his lunatic father and brother transplant the dead man’s brain into the body of a giant robot. The operation is successful, but the Colossus Robot mourns for his wife and child, and unwilling to be the guinea pig in his father’s psychotic project, begins to demonstrate homicidal behaviours.
Released on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK. Colossus of New York was directed by sci-fi specialist Eugène Lourié (Gorgo) and benefits from a haunting, minimalistic piano score from composer Van Cleave.
Includes brand new audio commentary with film historians Allan Bryce and Richard Holliss
