When a newly-wed couple embark on a train journey to start their honeymoon, the husband, Paul Webster (Crane), suddenly receives an urgent telegram and makes a phone call at the next station. But when the train steams off again without him, he is separated from his wife Joyce (Garland) and as time passes nobody can find him. After years of searching, Joyce finally finds her husband but she discovers that he has been the victim of horrific experimentation.
